The factory rocker switch made by Lucas
had contact rating of 10 amps maximum.
Both the Headlights and the Fan consume
more than 10 amps. The switch contacts
were stressed from the day the Pantera left
the factory.
The Console Switch Interface provides the following
benefits:
> Minimizes the current through the Headlight, Fan,
Power Window, and Courtesy switches preserving the
life without replacing with poorly manufactured switches.
Starting current of the fan and window motors is 6 to 10
times the running current, reverse voltage at turn-off can
be as high as 60 volts causing arcing of switch contacts,
detrimental to switch life.
> "Express" window functions, one press to go full down,
or an additional press to stop in any mid-position,
another press to continue down. The same is true for up,
one press to go full up, or an additional press to stop in
any mid-position, another press to continue up. The
motor stops automatically when the window mechanism
travel stops.
> 3 fan speeds are available. Low speed when the A/C
thermostat is turned ON. Medium speed when the fan
switch is in center position. Highest speed when the fan
switch is in the right position.
Fan motor speed control controlled by advanced and
very efficient electronic motor control allowing removal of
the HOT speed reducing resistor.
Special 3 speed fan motors are NOT necessary.
> Rocker switch lighting that activates when the lights
are ON.
> Easy installation, mounts to the rocker switches with
wires and terminals to connect directly to the switches.
> Converts the factory courtesy light and additional
interior lights to "Theater" or progressive brightness
lighting. Opening either door slowly ramps the lighting
from off to full brightness. After a few seconds the lighting
slowly ramps from full bright to off.
On-board terminals for additional interior lighting that
have grounded sockets for simple one wire per light
installation.
> Diagnostic on-board LED indicators: for HEADLIGHT,
FAN, WINDOW and COURTESY switches.
> Compatible with factory window regulators and up-
graded window regulators.
